Mission Statement
To support students academically, socially, emotionally and with career readiness skills, by building relationships with various stakeholders. We help to create an educational environment that is safe and free from discrimination, that allows for equal access to curriculum and classroom instruction.

Kyrie Adams, Director of Student Support Services/Counselor

Kyrie has worked in Education for over 20 years. Originally from New York, she taught in the greater D.C. area for 7 years and then moved to Colorado to complete her graduate program. Kyrie joined the JA staff August 2010. She has a BS in Secondary Education from Liberty University and an MA in School and Community Counseling from Denver Seminary. Kyrie also holds credentials as a Special Services Provider (SSP), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) specializing in adolescent, adult, and family therapy. Marcella DastaMarcella Dasta, SEL Coordinator/Counselor


Marcella has
 worked at Jefferson Academy for 20 years, in various capacities. Currently, she teaches JH and HS Spanish, College Psychology through Front Range Concurrent Enrollment Program, and is also an advisor for Sources of Strength at JA. Marcella earned her MS in School Counseling and MS in Psychology from University of Phoenix. Marcella’s four children graduated from Jefferson Academy. Kristin DeFiore, Internship Coordinator

Kristin is honored to be the Internship Coordinator at Jeffer
son Academy. In addition to this role, she will teach Senior Seminar, Standardized Test Preparation, and Professional Workplace Skills. She is celebrating her sixth year teaching at JA and her seventeenth year in education. She earned her bachelor's degree in speech communication and master's degree in education. Kristin is a busy mother of three amazing teenage boys! Her oldest son, Karter, is off to UNC this fall and her twins, Kellen and Kwinn, will be juniors at Broomfield High School. She enjoys spending as much time as possible with family and friends.


Cara HallCara Hall, Social Worker

Cara has worked in Social Work for 5 years with a background in Psychology. She has previous experience in fields such as child development, equine therapy, mental health services, substance use disorder services, and education. Cara joined JA staff August 2022. She earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology at St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas, and pursued her master's degree in Social Work at Metropolitan state University in Denver, Colorado. Cara is passionate about providing social and emotional support to all students, curating the best educational experience possible. Kevin Hausmann, Math InterventionistKevin Hausmann

This is Kevin's first year as a Math Interventionist at Jefferson Academy.  He has a BS and MS in Engineering Mechanics and Astronautics from the University of Wisconsin Madison and a MS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder. Kevin's engineering career includes design work for naval shipbuilders and NASA's Orion Crew Module.  He and his wife have two children that graduated from JA and a third child that is an 8th grader at JA. Jordan Javelet, Digital Teacher LibrarianJordan Javelet

Jordan is honored to serve as a Digital Teacher Librarian at Jefferson Academy. Born and raised in Arvada, Colorado, and a proud Arvada High School alum, Jordan graduated from Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland, with a BA in English. Before working at JA, Jordan taught English in Nagoya and Yokohama, Japan, for three and a half years, an experience which involved discovering favorite places to visit (Fushimi-Inari Taisha in Kyoto), foods to eat (shiratama zenzai), and J-pop groups to listen to (Kis-My-Ft2). Angela LeValleyAngela LeValley, Post-Secondary Advisor

Angela LeValley has worked in higher education for 20 years. She has held various positions including Director of Tivoli Student Union on the Auraria Campus, Director of Student Activities at Metropolitan State University of Denver, and Hall Director at San Diego State University and CU Boulder.  Angela earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology and speech communication and her master’s degree in communications. She is a first-generation college student and is a proud alum of the University of Northern Colorado. Kimberly MacGregor, Digital Teacher LibrarianKimberly MacGregor

This is Kim's fifth year in education, and her first year at Jefferson Academy.   She has a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Theatrical Design and Technology from Texas Tech University, as well as an Associates Degree in Theatre from Tyler Junior College. She is so excited to be in the library after spending the last four years in the classroom teaching technical theatre, as she thinks that storytelling is an imperative artform in our society. Kim is also an advocate for social emotional learning, so the thing you will hear her telling students the most is "You are loved and have purpose in this world!". When she's not at school, her favorite hobbies are writing and producing music, playing video games with her husband, and going hiking with her friends. Kim is so excited to be a part of the JA team! Kira Mlodozeniec, Special Education TeacherKira Mlodozeniec

This is Kira Mlodozeniec's second year as the Special Education Teacher at JA. She has a BA in Political Science, a Paralegal Degree and a Teaching License. Her family consists of her husband, two dogs and 2 cats. For fun, when she is not in school, she likes to travel around the US and around the world. Nicole St. Clair

Nicole St.Clair, ELA Interventionist

Nicole has worked in education for 7 years and as a JA alumni, Nicole is honored to be back in the Jaguar family! Nicole graduated from the University of Northern Colorado (Go Bears!) with an education degree and an emphasis in reading. She went on to earn a Masters of Science in Human and Family Development at Arizona State University. Nicole loves all things sports and will be coaching the junior high girl’s volleyball and basketball teams. In her free time you can find Nicole playing sand volleyball, paddle boarding, adventuring in the mountains, or cuddled up on the couch watching movies with her husband, daughter, and kitten!
