BIO:
Mark is a native of Colorado, graduating high school from Arvada West. After receiving a B.S. in Recreation Management from California State University Northridge, he completed graduate studies receiving an M.S. in School Counseling from the University of Phoenix.
Mark is in his 23rd year at Jefferson Academy serving as a physical education teacher and head boys varsity basketball coach. Additionally, Mark will now be in his third season as head girls varsity basketball coach. Prior to arriving at JA, he worked at Belleview Christian Academy high school, where he managed a very successful basketball program while also serving as the school's athletic director. Mark's basketball teams have been consistent winners at the 1A, 2A, and 3A levels winning 4 State championships and appearing in 7 State Tile games. His players have won numerous All-Colorado, Division Player of the Year, All-State, and All-Conference honors. Mark has developed several college athletes while coaching varsity high school and club basketball on the national stage. Club Basketball programs include Colorado-Big Orange, Colorado Pump n Run, Colorado JAM, and Colorado Shining Stars. Mark’s teams have reached numerous national final 4’s, regional titles, and national championship appearances. For the past 28 years and currently, Mark is the President and Executive Director for JAM Basketball.
Mark has been married to Rebecca for 25 years and they have two children, Jon, 40; and JA graduate Bryson, 26; Jon played basketball Division 1 college basketball for Saint Mary’s and professional basketball ball in Lithuania and Taiwan. Bryson graduated from Johnson and Wales University, where he played college basketball for the University.
