Heather Grantham, wins charter school Leader of the Year

Jefferson Academy Secondary School Principal awarded The 2022 Charter School LEADER OF THE YEAR!

The Colorado League of Charter Schools today announced that Heather Grantham, the principal of Jefferson Academy Secondary School, has been named the winner of the 2022 Charter School “Leader of the Year” award. The award is part of the League’s annual Colorado Charter Schools Hall of Fame awards.

The Charter School “Leader of the Year” award recognizes an individual who demonstrates significant influence in developing or maintaining a charter school, improving school accountability and performance, or driving other aspects of school excellence.

Grantham was awarded Leader of the Year because she is an inspirational leader who exemplifies professionalism. She has led Jefferson Academy Secondary School through two incredibly challenging years during the pandemic with dignity, grace and a vision for the future.  She not only expects greatness from herself, she motivates all of the staff to become better, more effective educators. She is a tireless leader, a selfless motivator and a great educator.

The Colorado League of Charter Schools is a nonprofit, membership-based organization that represents the interests of the state’s 266 charter schools and the families of over 132,000 students who attend them. Our mission is to improve student achievement by supporting Colorado’s charter schools, positively reshaping the public-school landscape, and advancing opportunities for innovation and expanded choice.
