1. Multiple Ideas
Artist plans out multiple points of view, ideas or perspectives for one project.

2. Choices
Choices are based on the project outlines and artist ensures that the planning is centered around what needs to be met.

3. Reflecting Meta-Cognitively
Artist is “thinking about their thinking” or “knowing before knowing.” The artist is thinking before the project starts of what might happen and comes up with solutions before, for example, a problem may occur

4. Inquiry
Acquiring information or seeking knowledge. The artist may need outside resources/tools/experimentation before the project starts to ensure their final result can be possible.

1. Crafting
How artists demonstrate what they create, the quality of their work and attention to detail. High craftsmanship shows high quality work where the artist took their time to ensure it looks its best and extreme attention to detail was used.

"IN MY PIECE, I MADE SURE THAT I WOULD HAVE HIGH CRAFTSMANSHIP BY MEASURING EACH CUBE TO 4" SO THE OPTICAL ILLUSION WOULD BE ACCURATE IN TWO-POINT PERSPECTIVE. I ALSO ADDED MANY DETAILS ON EACH SIDE OF THE CUBES WITH THE CIRCULAR ZENTANGLE DESIGN. THIS WAS A DIFFICULT TASK AS THE CIRCLES HAVE TO GO BACK IN SPACE ACCURATELY, BUT I MADE SURE THIS LOOKED ITS BEST BY MEASURING. "

2. Intrinsic Motivation
Intrinsic motivation refers to behavior that is driven by internal rewards. In other words, the motivation to engage in a behavior arises from within the individual because it is naturally satisfying to you. As an artist, you are driven to do well because the concept/idea is important to you, you have motivation to make it look as nice as possible, etc.

"I HAVE ALSO BEEN INTERESTED IN THE CONCEPT OF HOW HUMANS AFFECT THE ENVIRONMENT. TO ME THIS PIECE SPEAKS TO WHO I AM AS A PERSON AS I CARE FOR THE FUTURE GENERATIONS WHO WILL ONE DAY HAVE TO LIVE IN THE PLANET WE ARE SLOWLY DESTROYING. I ALSO AM DRIVEN TO MAKE THIS THE BEST QUALITY I CAN BECAUSE I CARE FOR WHAT THE END RESULT WILL LOOK LIKE."

3. Self-Assessing
Evaluation of oneself or one's actions and of one's performance or skills at a job, learning task, or an artwork that is in relation to an objective standard

"I SELF ASSESSED MYSELF BY CONSTANTLY REFERRING BACK TO THE PROJECT OBJECTIVES. I KNEW THAT THE BALANCE OF POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE SPACE WAS GOING TO BE AN ISSUE FOR ME. I WAS ALSO CHECKING TO SEE IF WHAT I GOING GO TO ADD HELPED THE 70%/30% BALANCE. "

4. Observing
Artist uses observation skills to observe surroundings , reference images, or anything they used to help ensure their project is crafted to its highest potential

"I USED MANY REFERENCE IMAGE OF OPTICAL ILLUSIONS TO HELP WITH MY DESIGN. I EVEN TRACED OVER SOME OF MY REFERENCES SO I COULD BETTER UNDERSTAND HOW TO DRAW THEM. THIS HELPED ME ENSURE THAT THE "OP" PART WAS GOING TO BE SEEN IN MY WORK."

5. Intention
When an artist completed something that was intended and made purposeful decisions to have the end result in mind come to life

"I PURPOSELY PLANNED FOR MY ART TO HAVE A ROUGH AFFECT. I WANTED TO SHOW DESTRUCTION AS A PART OF MY INTENDED MEANING AND I DID THIS BY SCRAPING AWAY PAINT WITH SANDPAPER SO THE END RESULT WOULD HAPPEN. IT WORKED MUCH BETTER THAN I IMAGINED."
