Mellott

Hello!
My name is Mr. Ryan Mellott (he/him) and I am one of the science teachers here at Jefferson Academy. I am currently teaching 7th and 8th grade science along with AP Physics. I hold a Master's Degree in Cognitive Science from University College Dublin. Also, I have my Bachelor's in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Buena Vista University. In my past, I got my start in Outdoor Education working with middle school aged students learning a number of hard sciences along with other life skills. One thing that I really value in education is making connections between the subjects and between the content. Aside from teaching, I love to go camping, hiking, and escape the world in various ways of storytelling including books and dungeons and dragons! I am very excited to be starting my traditional education career here at Jefferson Academy!
