Over the last few weeks I have had the chance to see all of our fall teams in action. There have been several late nights but I have enjoyed watching our teams compete. What I was reminded of is how great our coaches are. You may not always agree with some of their decisions but what you can’t deny is that these coaches love their sport, love sharing their passion for their sport, and most importantly they love working with your kids. So please take some time to tell your coaches “Thank You”.

For high school boys golf, Ethan Runyon qualified for the State tournament this coming Monday and Tuesday!  He made an at-large bid after a thrilling playoff hole. He will tee off Monday morning at the Eisenhower Golf Course on the grounds of the US Air Force Academy.

Both high school and junior high cross country had their league meets on Thursday.  It was a great day for running and the Jaguars showed up ready.  To start off the day, the boys team took 2nd overall. Sean Beasley and Rylan Mills coming in at 1st and 2nd respectively.  Sean also set a new junior high school record! The girls came in 3rd as a team with Kennedy Stadler leading the way, finishing in 4th place.  At the high school meet, the boys team finished 3rd, let by Jacob Crookston who finished 2nd. Emma Wiley led the way for the girls team, who finished in 8th place.

Junior high volleyball (A and B teams) and soccer have wrapped up their regular seasons, and all three teams will represent the school in the league tournament on Monday.  We are waiting on the official results, but it looks like all three teams finished in the top three. Volleyball has their tournament at Dawson and soccer will play at Stargate.  Good luck!

High school volleyball has moved up to 20th in the rankings and 4th in the league standings after wins against Machebeuf and Colorado Academy this week.  They will need to stay on their hot streak with a couple of big rivalry matchups next week against Prospect Ridge and Peak to Peak.

Boys high school soccer has moved up to 25th in the rankings and is also 4th in the league standings.  They have a huge game tonight at Peak to Peak. Let’s fill their stands with Black and Gold!

A reminder that pets are not allowed on the soccer field grounds.  There are too many people at these games with too much action going on.

Climbing Club

Climbing Club will have an informational meeting on Tuesday, October 8th.  This is for all JA students interested in climbing. There have been many changes over the past year, so veteran and new climbers are encouraged to come.  The meeting will be at 6:30 in the Commons.

Spirit Team

We have a new Spirit/Cheer Team Coach.  JA alum, Dani Batch will be coaching our Spirit/Cheer team this year.  There will be a chance for any interested high school students to come meet our new coach on Monday, October 7th during lunch in room 253.
