My name is Brenden Page and this will be my 7th year teaching at JA. Prior to teaching here, I was actually a student myself (class of '09- time to shine!) so it has been really awesome getting a chance to work with some of the adults that were my role models growing up. I teach 9th grade World History as well as 11th grade Western Civilization right now. I am also one of the coaches for the basketball program at school. I am the head JV Boys coach and I am a Varsity Assistant Coach for Boys and Girls Varsity teams. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me!

Here is a little introduction to the courses I teach. Welcome to World History Overview for the Fall 2020 semester! I hope that you are ready and excited to dive into some of the major happenings that have taken place between the dawn of humans c.10,000 BCE up through the European Middle Ages around 1400 CE. We will be mainly focusing on events that have taken place across the globe throughout the historical timeline mentioned above, bouncing around places such as Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas. My hope for you at the end of this course is to walk away with a better understanding of the diverse world around you and to have a greater respect (if not love!) for history.

Western Civilization incorporates some of the major happenings that have taken place between about 1500 CE- 1950 CE. We will be mainly focusing on European history in this course with some elements of World History and U.S. History thrown in at times. Some major events that we will study include the Age of Exploration, French Revolution, both World Wars, and much more. My hope for you by the end of this course is to walk away with a solid understanding of how Western Civilization has shaped the world in both positive and negative ways as well as a more intense respect, if not love, of history.
