Boys & Girls High School Basketball begins Monday, November 12th.

Practice will begin promptly at 3:30pm Boys practice @ HS gym and Girls practice @ JA Elementary big gym (9955 Yarrow St.) Registration & Current Physical Must be turned in to the Athletic office to be eligible for practice. NO Exception

Love Science?? Then JA's new Science Focused Travel opportunity is for you!  

We will be travelling to Florida during Winter Break '19/'20.  While there, we will be doing nearly everything possible related to Science. This means we will get to explore the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park (with a glass-bottom boat ride),  experience the Miami Seaquarium with a Dolphin Encounter, explore the ecosystems and take an Everglades Airboat Ride,  tour Flamingo Gardens, participate in field work at the Smithsonian Marine Station, tour and do an educational program at the Kennedy Space Center, and other fun along the way! 

Come to an informational meeting on Tuesday, November 13 at 7pm in the Commons.  Your student was sent home with an invitation and RSVP form, but if they have lost it, just email Ember Babcock at  to let me know you are coming to the meeting. 

Career Day 2018 at JA - Wednesday, November 14th

Each year, we bring in different speakers to present their various career fields to students, with the hope that this continues to encourage students to think about what the future may hold for them, and what skills and knowledge they may need. Our annual Career Day is coming up on Wednesday, November 14th! Students will get the chance to choose four of the presenters in order to learn specifically about that career. Our speakers will include: a personal trainer, business owner, realtor, recruiters from the Army and Marines, a software engineer, the creative director at Coors Tek, a physical therapist, a counselor, a CAD designer, the police department, a VP of insurance, the museum of nature & science, a civil engineer, a representative from Ball aerospace, a youth pastor, a pilot, a non-profit speaker with United Way, an outdoor education leader, a stand up comedian & actor, a design lead for artificial intelligence in vehicles, and the Denver Post.

Remote Control Club Fundraiser

Remote Control Club will be having a fundraiser at Rock Bottom Restaurant on Wednesday, Nov 29th from 1-7pm. Ten percent of all purchases will go back to help support RC Club. You MUST  tell your server you are there to contribute to the club.

Junior High Girls Soccer Team Tryouts for 2019

All 7th and 8th grade girls are invited to try out for JA 4th Quarter girls’ soccer season.

Based on assessed skills, coaching staff will select individual students to be part of the competitive team, placing them in the Team Sports D block class. JH girls’ soccer team will practice during the school day, and compete in after school contests and tournaments with area middle schools.

If your student makes the competitive Team Sport class, the following will be required prior to the start of 4thquarter.

·      $100 athletic fee

·      A current physical

·      Athletic registration forms (you may find forms on the website under the Athletics)

Mandatory Tryout Information:

Thursday, November 15th @ 3:30-5pm @ JA Secondary soccer field.

Players must bring/wear:


          Shin Guards

          Clothing for any type of weather

Players also should bring:


          A soccer ball

In the event of inclement weather, tryouts will be rescheduled.

In the event that a player is injured prior to tryouts, tryouts for that individual will take place during the first three days of the 4th quarter, which is the course add/drop period.




Junior High Student Council Fundraiser-Friday, November 16th 7th & 8th grade students may pay $1 to come to school in their pajamas.  This is a fundraiser for Junior High Student Council.
