About Me:
Hello! My name is Mr. Clark. This is my sixth year teaching social studies and electives at Jefferson Academy. I feel very incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to build relationships with wonderful young people and to teach subjects that I'm passionate about every day.

7th Grade:
7th Grade social studies is all about Civics and 20th century American history. We focus on the rights and responsibilities of citizenship and on how America emerged as a global superpower during the 20th century. 

Units of study:
- Civics
- America in 1900
- World War I
- The "Roaring Twenties"
- The Great Depression
- World War II
- Conformity and Counterculture in 1950s America
- Civil Rights Movement

8th Grade:
8th Grade social studies focuses on world revolutions. I try to get students to understand why people in each society were ready for a change and how each revolution changed life for different groups in each society that we study.

- Neolithic Revolution
- American Revolution
- French Revolution
- Haitian Revolution
- Industrial Revolution
- Russian Revolution
- Cuban Revolution
- Chinese Cultural Revolution
- Iranian Revolution
- End of Apartheid in South Africa 

8th Grade Syllabus
