JA Concurrent Enrollment

Concurrent Enrollment PACKET

Concurrent Enrollment is a student led process. Students should be initiating the outreach. These are college courses and students will be treated accordingly.  If there are questions please reach out to Angela LeValley, [email protected]

What is Concurrent Enrollment:

Concurrent Enrollment allows qualified high school students in grades 9-12 to take college classes at our partner institution, Front Range Community College, for high school and college credit with tuition being paid by JA. Student is responsible for any fees. Students may not complete more than 45 Front Range Community College credits onsite at JA. Should a student exhaust all courses in the building or an ICAP exception included in their academic plan, upon pre-approval from the Post-Secondary Advisor and/or Principal, more courses may be completed at Front Range Community College.

Criteria for Admission:
Students should be academically ready, (all As and Bs), high social maturity, strong attendance, and a desire to work hard. Please see the Concurrent Enrollment Packet for a detailed list of criteria.

Required Meetings:

Generally, there are two mandatory meetings (info below) that take place early in the spring semester for interested students. Students and their caregiver are required to attend both meetings. Meetings are only for students that are new to CE classes. If a student does not attend both meetings, they will be unable to take CE courses the following academic year.

     - An Information Session typically on the Front Range Community College Westminster
Campus which focuses on FRCC information.
     - JA focused meeting with school specific information including policies and
       scheduling.

General Timeline (subject to change):
January:
- Post-Secondary Advisor will share information about upcoming CE process including any meetings via email to students and Principal Notes.

February and March:
- Attend all mandatory meetings (detailed above)
- Complete administrative process including all forms and application

Mid-March:
- Students will begin meeting with Post-Secondary Advisor to evaluate ICAP, plan course load and schedule
